I say NO to school uniforms!!

No to school uniform in schools! I am a student myself we do not have school uniforms, and that I am happy for. I could never imagine putting on a uniform before school everyday. It would be so dull. You want to be special. You want to feel like you belong somewhere. If you dress in a certain way and someone else does too then you feel like you have a connection with that person. If you wear a school uniform though, then you do not get an as strong impression of someone.

                     

The teenage years are a sensitive age. Those are the years when you get to know yourself. You try out new things and different styles until you find that which suits you the best. But if you do not get the time to do that, what happens then? If everyone always wore the same things you do, it would not work out. You express yourself through the clothes you wear and if you do not get the ability to do it, then you do not turn out the way you should. It is as if you play a role of someone you are not.

I think that school uniforms gives an impression that you should always be like everyone else and absolutely not stand out. Is that the way we want things in school? No individualism. That everyone should be and look a certain way, the “right” way. But what if that is not the right way then? And society forms to not accepting every individual the way they are. What happens then?

Everything is much more funnier with different clothes and outfits. People dedicate blogs to it. It is fun to buy new things, match them together and find new ways to wear them. You might even think that it is exiting enough to have it as your everyday job. As long as the clothes you wear does not hurt anyone then I do not think we have a problem.

I can surely agree however that it is a good thing to stop people from judging each other too much, based on looks. But the solution to that problem is utterly not for everyone to wear the same clothing. People will judge each other anyway, based appearance. The things which a uniform can never cover.

I say no to school uniforms.
